Expanding Hate Crime laws

HB 236 would expand Kentucky's hate crime statutes to include religion, mental and physical disability, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation. It would also require local police departments to do better tracking and reporting of such crimes, establish anti-hate crime units, and engage in community education about hate crimes.
