…Better known as ACES, is a series of workshops to share information about sustainable economic opportunities, and cultivate ongoing discussions about economic issues facing Wise County and Southwest Virginia.  WHEN?   Every other Saturday from October 20th  to December 1st, 2012 1-9 pm.

NOVEMBER 3RD, 2012

1-4 pm. “Canning to save your food and other Food Preservation Methods” by Alicia Staebner of the Wise County Extension Agency. In the Appalachia Senior Center Kitchen in downtown Appalachia, VA. Get a full showcase of how to use a hot water bath to can food and take some home with you that day!

4-5 pm. TBA

5 pm. “Bringing Sustainable Development to Southwest Virginia” Panel facilitated by Sylvia Ryerson of Appalshop with guests inlcuding Frank Kilgore. More guests TBA.

6 pm. FREE Local Meal at the Appalachia Senior Center in downtown Appalachia, VA.

7 pm. FREE Live Entertainment with Strawberry Jam of Big Stone Gap! At the Appalachia Senior Center in downtown Appalachia, VA.
