CKY State of the Commonwealth Watch and React Party!
On Tuesday, January 26 Gov. Bevin will address a joint session of the State House of Representatives and State Senate. He will deliver a joint State of the Commonwealth and Budget address.
In this speech, we expect to hear what Gov. Bevin's top priorities are for the year as well as learn about some key elements of the 2 year budget that he will have released earlier that day.
This is an opportunity for Kentuckians to weigh in with our vision for Kentucky, and good policies to get us there.
We want a Kentucky with good jobs, clean air and water, quality public education, and healthy, vibrant communities. The Budget Address should reflect these priorities and our values, and the State of the Commonwealth should include a commitment to preserving what’s best about Kentucky, and plans for building off our progress.
We might hear that next Tuesday night. We might not. This is also a great opportunity to gather with friends and fellow chapter members to write letters to the editor afterwards responding to points Gov. Bevin makes in his speech. We will have supplies and resources avaliable.
Come for all or a portion of the evening. New faces are welcomed and encouraged!
