KY Cultural Organizing Learning Exchange
Kentucky, like the rest of our nation, is experiencing profound economic, political and social shifts. Yet what remains constant is our resilience, our strong sense of pride in place, and our shared cultural resources - the stories, songs, artistic traditions and innovations that connect us and challenge us to see our diverse voices and experiences are intertwined.
Cultural organizing creates safe space for conversation, action, and change.
Join artists and allies from across Kentucky as we dream new dreams of how our cities, towns and rural areas can co-create visions for sustainable change on
Saturday, May 13th from 10:00am - 5:00pm
Attendance is FREE, but we need you to register for the event and lunch by May 1, 2017!
The Kentucky Cultural Organizing Alliance, a coalition of partners, has organized an annual learning exchange to share resources and knowledge about the power of art and culture to create a more just and equitable Kentucky. Our state partners include Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, Appalshop, the Kentucky Foundation for Women, Western KY University Folk Studies Department and Louisville SURJ, Showing Up for Racial Justice. We also work with Atlanta-based Alternate ROOTS, Tucson Pima Arts Council, LA Commons and New York-based Arts & Democracy.
