Latino Festival in Lexington

Hispanic Heritage Day was first established in 1968 during the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the United States and to celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture. In 1988, it was expanded by Ronald Reagan to a month-long celebration starting on September 15th.

Festival Latino de Lexington, now on its 12th year, has been the city's main event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. During the festival, thousands of people, Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike, gather in downtown Lexington to enjoy the cultural displays, dancing presentations, live music, and a variety of food from different regions in Latin America.

The local KFTC chapter will be registering voters at the festival. If you'd like to help out with that please contact the local organizer (contact info below). Bilingual volunteers would be very helpful!
