RECLAIM hearing
Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources of the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee will hold a legislative hearing titled, “Abandoned Mine Land Reclamation: Innovative Approaches and Economic Development Opportunities,” including the following bill, and other related measures:
- H.R. 315 (Rep. LaHood), To amend the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 to authorize partnerships between States and nongovernmental entities for the purpose of reclaiming and restoring land and water resources adversely affected by coal mining activities before August 3, 1977, and for other purposes. “Community Reclamation Partnerships Act”
This includes provisions of the RECLAIM Act. Among the people testifying will be Eric Dixon of the Appalachian Citizen's Law Center.
