Rally for Resistance: Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline

The Canadian tar sands are the second largest carbon deposit on Earth, next only to the oil fields of Saudi Arabia. They contain enough carbon to bring the Earth’s temperature to the threshold of irreversible climate chaos. By connecting the tar sands to a deepwater port in Texas, the Keystone XL would bring that carbon onto the world market to be consumed everywhere.

The October 30 rally will put the Obama administration on notice that more than 75,000 U.S. residents, including Louisvillians and Kentuckians, have pledged to resist construction of this pipeline, including, if necessary, arrest through peaceful, dignified civil disobedience (the civil disobedience itself will occur at a later date if, and when, the pipeline is approved. If you wish to join in the civil disobedience at a later date you must come to a training sessions.  The next session is scheduled on Saturday, November 23.  Sign up at [email protected].  Attending the training does not commit you to risking arrest at the action).

Find national Keystone XL “Pledge of Resistance” info at nokxl.org.

Please come October 30 to tell President Obama to say NO to the Keystone XL Pipeline.
