Harlan County miner now growing apples

Terry Creech is a second generation commercial apple grower in Harlan County, KY. A former coal miner, Creech says apple growing is demanding work but he loves seeing the sky above his head everyday. Although many growers said Creech would never succeed growing apples at this site, he has developed a Honey Crisp strand here that he sells at regional groceries and which accounts for a large part of his income.
