How a grassroots effort helped get West End voters to Louisville's only polling place

On primary Election Day, a grassroots effort spread across Louisville to get voters to Jefferson County's only polling site — the Exposition Center at the fairgrounds.
Several local organizations partnered to offer directions, food and water and free rides to the election center.
Volunteers and employees from Kentuckians for the Commonwealth worked late into the evening Monday and early Tuesday morning to post signs at dozens of former polling places, particularly in Black neighborhoods in south and west Louisville, so voters knew where to go.
