Music For The Mountains 2
A couple of years ago several musicians from the Greater Cincinnati area came together to help raise money to put an end to mountaintop removal mining by supporting Kentuckians For The Commonwealth and Ohio Citizen Action. They created a CD filled with local music that was unique to that album. The efforts raised over $15,000, split between the two organizations.
This year, on October 12, they're doing it again, at the Southgate House Revival! Tickets will cost $15 if purchased early, or $20 at the door. It would be best to preorder them, because they will sell out the night of the show. A new CD and posters will also be available for purchase at the show. Doors open at 7, and the music begins at 8.
The event will also feature KFTC’s own Teri Blanton, who will share her family’s story of growing up in eastern Kentucky. Between the music, the posters, the CD, and Teri, the musicians organizing this event are confident that they can beat the $15,000 this event raised in 2010.
If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to contact Joe Gallenstein at [email protected] or by calling 859-380-6103.
