Join members of the Scott County chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth at the Scott County Public Library as we go over some of the work ongoing in the general assembly, recent victories, and upcoming work around voter empowerment!  

KFTC members join historic civil rights march

KFTC members joined hundreds of others for the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s march on Frankfort.

The march and rally on March 5 in Frankfort brought marching bands, school groups, ally organizations, surviving participants of the 1964 march, and many supporters of House Bill 70.

Northern Kentucky Loves Mountains!

The Northern Kentucky chapter is having a fundraiser featuring poets Scott Goebel and Jim Webb, and musicians Kentucky Graham and the Red Cedars. All of the performers have lent their talents to the work to fight mountaintop removal mining, and are looking forward to this great event!

Euchre For Democracy!

Members Katie and Bonnie Meyer, who own Pike Street Lounge, are hosting a euchre tournament to help benefit Kentuckians For The Commonwealth! This will be a singles tournament, so no need to bring a partner.

Task force hears testimony on voting rights bills

For the first time, some members of the Kentucky Senate got to hear testimony on the issue of restoring voting rights to former felons.

The Interim Task Force on Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs, with members from both the House and Senate, heard testimony on bills that would allow Kentucky voters to amend the state constitution to automatically restore voting rights to former felons once they’ve served their debt to society.
