KFTC graduates second Organizing Academy cohort

KFTC graduated our second Organizing Academy Cohort on Saturday, May 25th. We had 14 folks graduate from the program from across the state.

ORSANCO hearing in Erlanger

The Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) held the last of three hearings on Monday, April 8, to gather public input on its latest proposal to change its mandate to monitor and enforce clean water standards on the river. The previous two had been in Pittsburgh on April 1, and Evansville, IN on April 4.

Monitoring would continue under the new proposal, but states could decide whether or not to adopt or enforce the standards. This opened a new front in the fight to protect water in the Ohio River that provides drinking water for more than five million people. Over 75 people gathered at the meeting in Erlanger to voice opposition to the organization’s proposal. KFTC members attended the public hearing along with a broad coalition of individuals, environmental, social justice, religious, public health and civic groups.

NKY Chapter Meeting

Join members of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth to celebrate Democracy Day! After the polls close at 6 pm, our members will be meeting at 7 pm to talk about our ongoing work to make change - both through electoral work, meeting with community members, and sharing our vision for what Kentucky needs and deserves.

Writing for Change: Race-Class Narrative

Join members of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth as we work on how to effectively write about our issues in ways that pushes forward KFTC's vision and values, creates a clear narrative for the change we need, and illustrates how systems of oppression work together in creating damage to our communities.

This workshop is designed to help people think about what they are writing, what narratives we are putting forward, and how we can use our writing to create systemic change.

Rolling Bluegrass Chapter Meeting

Join members from Scott and Harrison Counties as we work to build power to tackle injustice in our communities and across the Commonwealth. From voting rights, to fairness, to just economic policy, to protecting our environment, racial justice and beyond, our members are working for a brighter future for all Kentuckians.
