Join us in Frankfort on 3.12.14 for our Economic Justice Lobby Day
Join us, Wednesday, March 12, as we call on our legislature to join Kentuckians working to build a new economy for Kentucky.
This session, key economic policies are in play.
- With HB 191, HB 1, and SB 215, we can raise the minimum wage and tipped wages and enact pay equity laws.
- With the Kentucky Forward Plan (HB 220), we can help lift thousands of working Kentuckians out of poverty, and into economic stability, with a robust EITC. And we can improve the quality of life in Kentucky through much revenue.
- By lifting up viable options to the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST)—policies that don’t disproportionately impact lower-income residents—we can show our cities and towns a better way forward.
- And, we can once again hang up on AT&T and the telecommunications industry as they try to cut Kentuckians off from landline service by speaking out against SB 99.
These policies have an important role in laying the foundation for building a new economy in Kentucky—an economy that puts people before profit and works for our communities. Come to Frankfort to be part of building our new economy!
Join us at 9:30 a.m. in the Capitol Annex Room 125. There we will orient ourselves, review the schedule for the day, and assign folks to lobby teams.
