Make work pay for Kentuckians!
Right now, two economic tools are poised to make a tremendous difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Kentucky workers and their families – a state Earned Income Tax Credit and an increase in minimum wages. With your voice, it’s possible to push SB 155 and HB 1 and 191 through the Senate, and let them work to improve the lives of Kentuckians.
Together, these two tools would benefit more than 1 in 5 Kentucky workers and their families who count on them. Together, they’d lift Kentuckians out of poverty and have lasting benefits in the lives of our children. Together, they’d be transformative for our economy and our commonwealth. Click on the graphic to the right to learn more about how these two policies would impact Kentucky families.
Take Action
Call the toll-free legislative message line at 1-800-372-7181, and ask to leave a message for Senate Leadership, Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee, and the Senate Licensing, Occupations, and Administrative Regulations Committee. “Please make work pay for Kentuckians with a robust state EITC and raising the wage. Please pass SB 155 and HB 1 and 191.”
If you have just a few more minutes…
Legislators also need to hear from you about these bills that KFTC opposes:
1) There’s still time to defeat the AT&T bill. Call the Message Line and leave a message for all representatives: “Please keep Kentucky’s phone lines open. Stop the AT&T bill, SB 99.”
2) There are viable options to the Local Option Sales Tax (SB 135/HB 399) that don’t disproportionately impact lower-income residents. Call the Message Line and leave a message for all representatives: “Local Option Sales Taxes disproportionately impact low-income folks. Please oppose HB 399 in favor of fairer revenue solutions.”
