Central Kentucky Fall Fundraising Phone Bank

Eight Central Kentucky KFTC members gathered in the Lexington KFTC office last night to conduct but one of many of our Fall Fundraising Phonebanks - to contact all of our members and ask them to renew their memberships or give a special donation to KFTC to keep our work going strong coming into the year (and the Legislative Session just around the corner).

"The calls are actually a lot of fun," said Joe Gallenstein.  "Our members are friendly and almost always glad to hear from us."

In just one day, we got pledges or in-hand donations totaling over $1200 from more than 30 members with donations as high as $200 and as low as $2.  Every dollar makes a difference and every donation equally moves us closer to our goal of having 70% of our members up-to-date, having given at least once in 2008.

More than that, volunteers enjoyed having quality conversations and building rapport with other KFTC members.

"It was interesting for so many of our members to tell *us* stories about KFTC and experiences they've had over the year," added Jan.

These phone banks are critical to our work and we'll continue to have them in offices all over the state.  Please consider lending a hand and volunteering by contacting your local KFTC Organizer.
