Eastern KY Voter Mobilization Update
KFTC members from Perry and Letcher counties came together last night to hold an East Kentucky phone-banking event in preparation for election day, next Tuesday November 6.
With support from members of these two chapters, we held the largest phonebank that East Kentucky has had in at least the last three years, with 8 members, staff and volunteers calling over 300 members – every person in our database for the east Kentucky counties and the 100 people we helped register as new voters during the fall voter registration period.
With pizza, chips, cookies and pop we made a party out of the night and had great conversations with new and sustaining members who are excited about the upcoming election.
We were especially excited to tell everyone about our Singing for Democracy event, which will be held this Sunday, November 4 at 4pm at the Consolidated Baptist Church in Hazard (180 Winterberry Street) and about our upcoming East KY KFTC Holiday Celebration, which will be Tuesday, December 11 at 6pm at the Harry Caudill Memorial Library in Whitesburg.
