Fourth Annual I Love Mountains Old Time Music Showcase a Huge Success!!
On Friday night, the Central Kentucky chapter hosted their fourth annual I Love Mountains Old Time Music Showcase at Al's Bar. The event raised $1500 for KFTC, with over 150 folks coming to join the fun, and 43 folks joining KFTC!
Music was performed by Julie & Adrian Shepherd-Powell, the Clack Mountain String Band, and Rich and the Poor Folks! From the stage, KFTC member and Kentucky Rising participant Greg Capillo brought the crowd news of the 14 amazing Kentuckians spending the weekend in the governor's office.
Many folks wrote messages of support for the folks hunkered down in Frankfort. Folks also created valentines asking to support the Stream Saver Bill and end mountain-top removal. The valentines will be delivered to Governor Beshear on Monday as part of I Love Mountains Day!
A special thanks to numerous KFTC members who volunteered to help make the night a huge success by working the door and merch table.
Join us on Sunday from 1-3pm at Third Street Stuff to write valentines or make signs for the big event on Monday. And, make sure to join us on Monday at I Love Mountains Day in Frankfort!
