Larkspur Press open house

Kentucky writers have long been a great part of KFTC's efforts to spread the social justice message, especially in recent years around protecting our water, land, homes and heritage from mountaintop removal. Those good efforts continued this past weekend when Gray Zeitz, the owner of Larkspur Press, set up a mountaintop removal display and donation jar for KFTC during Larkspur Press' annual open house.Gray Zeitz

Visitors got to view the beautiful work of the Larkspur staff as well as some products of local artisans who were invited to also set up displays. Besides recruiting new members, Gray helped keep the conversation focused on the good things that Kentuckians value — which is also what KFTC is all about.

Larkspur Press itself is cultural and literary treasure, focused on keeping alive the traditional art of letterpress printing. They have printed works by many well-known Kentucky authors as well as helping emerging writers get their start.  They are located in Monterey, about 20 minutes north of Frankfort. Visit Larkspur's web site here or read more about them here.

A special thanks goes out to Gray and Leslie Shane, who helps keep the operation going.
