Northern Kentucky (virtual) Sustainability Tour
On Saturday, December 5, Sydney Gregory and myself hosted a virtual sustainability tour on ways to stay sustainable in a Coronavirus time. This tour featured a variety of speakers like Josh Tunning from ReNewport, Alexa Abner from the Covington Farmers Market, and Brian Goessling from Redden Gardens. Each of our guests came and spoke about sustainable practices, their day-to-day in their own lives, and how individuals could get involved in their communities. We were also joined by Nikita Perumal, who gave us helpful tips and tricks on how to cut down on our energy waste. Thank you to all who attended!
The sustainability tour turned out to be a tough thing to plan. Allison Wendling, Maria Truitt and I started planning the event back in June with hopes of it occurring in September. Those goals became unrealistic because of the importance of the election and getting out the vote. After that, we set the date for December 5, and had ourselves a tour! We learned about the Empower Movement, ReNewport, Redden Gardens, local farmers, and more! The recording of the live event is on Facebook on the NKY KFTC Chapter page if you would like to watch in it full.
