Operation Voter Madness in CKY- Final Report!
Yesterday, the Central Kentucky chapter of KFTC turned in over 400 voter registration cards from the last two weeks. 276 of those came from our 77 straight hours of voter registration! Yep, that's right, some incredible volunteers ended up doing 5 more hours than the 72 that we had originally planned. See below for members' thoughts on the events and just a few more photos...
" I loved working with Voter Empowerment. The people who we register really do feel empowered. You can see it all over their faces. I also love watching the faces of people who are already registered, too. When you ask them if they're registered almost everyone who is stands up a little straighter, smiles, and says they already are. You can see a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's a fun job and, even though it was cold and raining on Saturday night, it only took a few minutes before i remembered the amazing feeling of helping others to find their voice."

"Operation Voter Madness represents a mad response to a mad problem, the lack of public interest in voting. This year we had a crazy amount of voter registration events at a number of public gatherings in Lexington. Personally I enjoyed the opportunity to get people involved and talk with coworkers about the problems and possible solutions in our democracy. The only flaw in Operation Voter Madness is that it should be longer and madder."
