Rally for Recovery this past weekend +other events
Kentuckians For The Commonwealth participated in People Advocating Recovery's annual Rally for Recovery this past weekend. Building solidarity with allies in recovery from drug addiction.
Mike Barry, Senator Gerald Neil, and our own Tayna Fogle were amongst the speakers who talked about Restoration of Voting Rights for Former Felons - and voting as part of the path to recovery and for people to truly rejoin society.
KFTC members registered voters, helped former felons to start the process of getting their right to vote back, and got almost 300 petition signatures to change Kentucky's Constitution to automatically restore voting right to former felons who have served their debt to society.
"This isn't about Obama and it's not about McCain. This is about having a voice in my community - about each of us having a voice in our communities" - Tayna Fogle, KFTC Former Felon Spokesperson
This weekend, we also registered voters and built support around our issues at the Terrapin Hill Harvest Festival, Latino Fest, and several other community events across the state.
