Reel Power: Films Fueling the Energy Revolution

In recognition that a movement needs more than one movie, the non-profit Working Films has curated a series of ten films that tell the many stories of our energy crisis, and most importantly, the opportunities for sustainable growth it presents. The film series, which is designed for organizations and individuals to host one film screening per month, connect the story of KFTC members in Maytown organizing to stop a mountaintop removal mining permit with the stories of communities organizing against the exploitation of power companies, an indigenous leader in Peru standing up against the destruction  of the Amazon, and a group of young people in California finding new hope in a renewable energy training program.  These are  stories about the power of people and communities to create lasting change.

The series launches on November 23rd with the film Deep Down which premiers that night on PBS's Emmy award winning series Independent Lens.
