Rowan chapter fundraiser is successful
Not blistering temperatures in the upper 90s or even a cloudburst on Saturday afternoon that delivered almost 3 inches of rain in an hour could deter the Rowan County chapter members from feeding hungry festival goers at the 6th annual Old Time Music Festival in Rowan County on July 29th and 30th.
About a dozen chapter members worked cheerfully and diligently in preparing, cooking and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, including delicious home-made, grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie chili, bean burritos, soup beans, fried potatoes and corn bread, funnel cakes, scrambled eggs muffins and cookies and an assortment of drinks.
Rowan County Chapter Co-chairperson Erik Lewis spoke to the crowd about KFTC’s issues and vision for Kentucky. Other chapter members chatted with many festival-goers at our information table while selling $60 worth of raffle tickets for a beautiful dulcimer. Tired but happy chapter members were delighted to find out the chapter fundraiser made a profit of $685.
