Scott County MLK March Report-back
We had our largest Scott County Martin Luther King Jr. March in recent memory yesterday - including around 100 marchers and 150 people at the ceremony - including 8 folks from the local KFTC chapter.
In addition to taking part in a great march and program, we had some good conversations with friends and allies about the upcoming legislative session, got to talk to a number of elected officials including new state representative Ryan Quarles, and we passed out 150 handbills about MLK and HB 70, inviting people out to our lobby training and to ask Senator Thayer to support legislation that would allow former felons who have served their time to vote again.
Thanks to everyone at the Georgetown / Scott County NAACP for putting together such a great event - including event organizer John Douglas and new NAACP President Byron Moran.
