Tell officials we need the option to Vote-By-Mail in the June 23 Primary Election

g20190313_124933Kentuckians shouldn’t have to choose between being heard in our democracy or keeping ourselves, our families and our neighbors safe from the pandemic. Kentucky is one of just a handful of states that don’t generally allow voters to Vote By Mail and haven’t expanded vote-by-mail options in the current pandemic.

As of now, Kentuckians can only vote by mail if they are sick, if they’re away at school, at work, in the military or meet one of a few other narrow reasons. Even for those cases, our absentee voting by mail process is complicated because you have to request an application, wait for it to arrive, mail in a filled-out application, get your ballot in the mail, fill it out and mail it in so it arrives by the deadline.

Kentucky needs a simplified Vote-By-Mail option available to all Kentucky voters and broad public education to let people know about it.

Kentucky’s Secretary of State Michael Adams, Gov. Andy Beshear and our State Board of Elections are collectively the decision-makers on this issue, and they could decide as early as tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m.

Please reach out to these officials today to tell them you support expanded and simplified voting by mail and why you care about this issue.
