Voter registration in Lexington
Last week members of the central Kentucky chapter registered voters at the Lexington transit center. The transit center is the hub of public transportation in the city with 25 routes loading and unloading riders every 30 minutes. The transit center is a great place to meet folks and to talk to them about voter empowerment.
Chapter members plan on returning to the transit center throughout the summer to register folks. They also have the following voter registration activities scheduled:
Saturday, June 23, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.: Registering voters door to door in the neighborhood around the Pine Valley apartments (Manchester Avenue area)
Saturday, June 30, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.: Registering voters at the save-a-lot store in Cardinal Valley
Saturday, June 7, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.: Registering voters at the Lexington farmers market
Saturday, July 14t, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.: 1393 Trent Blvd.
If you'd like to help the chapter with voter registration, please contact the local organizer Ondine Quinn at [email protected] or 859-276-0563.
