Voter Registration at WIT's Truth Commission
KFTC and Ashley from Jobs with Justice tabled at Women in Transition's Truth Commission on Saturday August 9th.
KFTC volunteer Carl Matthews commented, "I enjoyed the WIT event because those who shared their experiences revealed the truth about the plight of being poor in America, in Metro Louisville, right here at home. We all received a warm welcome from WIT members. I observed many Kentucky female citizens carefully reading the petitions on the table. However, believe it or not, out of the three petitions on the table, some attendees immediately selected, read, and quickly signed the petition for Restoration of Voting Rights for Former Felons who have Served their Time. That gave me an opportunity to thank them personally. I showed some of the ladies my Restoration certificate from Governor Beshear. Our KFTC Voter Registration tabling raised my awareness of how all Kentucky citizens really need an "easy†outlet to voice their opinion on issues important to them. KFTC tabling events meet that need and present mutual issues. Let’s keep up this tabling!â€
