Waxman Ousts Dingell to Head House Energy Committee
Rep. Henry A. Waxman has become the Chair of the US House Energy Committee, replacing Rep. Dingell, and giving a lot of hope to environmentalists for more reasonable legislation on many issues including coal, mountaintop removal mining and climate change.
Waxman has even indicated that he will push a bill effectively imposing a moratorium on approval of new coal-fired power plants unless those plants use advanced technology to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases
