Western Kentucky miners missing after roof fall

UPDATE: See this article in The Charleston Gazette, which reports that one of the two miners was found dead today.

_____________

Two miners are missing after a roof collapsed in a Western Kentucky mine Wednesday night. A section of roof gave way some 24,000 feet underground at the Webster County Coal Dotiki mine, owned by Alliance Coal Company. The missing miners were operating a continuous miner, a machine that digs for coal, when the roof gave way. Rescue crews were on the scene Thursday searching for the workers. For more information, see this article in the The Lexington Herald-Leader.
