Freedom Mic Series

Freedom Mic Series, featuring Kentucky Poet Laureate Frank X Walker is a poetry event presented by New Legacy Reentry Corporation and Jefferson County Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth. Mr. Walker will lead a poetry workshop entitled "The Voices of The Community” at 5pm. The workshop will allow participants to develop poetic pieces inspired by issues related to social justice, democracy, and, social capital. The cost of the workshop is $5. A Democracy themed spoken word event will follow the workshop at 7pm. This event will feature Mr. Walker along with other local poets. The cost of admission is $5. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and local vendors will be selling paintings, jewelry, etc.
