Another milestone – 31 years!
Thirty-one years ago today (August 17), no one in that room in Hazard likely imagined the organization that KFTC is today as they set out to address an unfair tax system and abuses by the coal industry. They just knew, as Gladys Maynard later recalled, "that it made sense to work together across county lines because the problems we faced were similar and needed to be addressed on the state or national level."
These many years later, we salute the thousands of incredible men and women who have made KFTC the strong grassroots, multi-issue and still growing and learning community that we've become.
And thanks to everyone who is helping KFTC continue to make history with your work and support today.
Last year to help celebrate our 30th birthday we put together a history booklet and video to recall some of our members and accomplishments over the years. You can view the video here: I Was There: The First 30 Years of KFTC and the booklet here.
And what a good time to honor KFTC with a gift of $31 dollars. You can do that here. Thanks!

Happy Birthday!
I have to say I'm super happy about KFTC's 31 years but I'm DELIGHTED by that KFTC pie.
