Did Senator Thayer Delete Your Voice?
Thanks to more than 200 of you for posting to Senator Damon Thayer's Facebook page in recent days to ask him to hear House Bill 70 to restore voting rights to most former felons once they have served their debt to society.
Unfortunately, in an attempt to suppress debate, Senator Thayer has *deleted* dozens of posts to his wall requesting him to hear the bill.
Here is Sen. Thayer's Facebook Wall.
And this is a picture of Sen. Thayer's Wall from a few days ago. (warning - it's a pretty big image and Firefox users on OSX might have trouble viewing it since it is so large)
He deleted the words of former felons, their family members, religious leaders, and criminal justice professionals, his own constituents, and others.
If you're on Facebook and you'd like to visit Sen. Thayer's wall again and ask why he has deleted these words, or to re-post what you said before, please do.
If you'd like to send your original message again in a way that Sen. Thayer can't delete it - make it a Letter to the Editor in your local paper.
