Does the Senate budget proposal rtwaqshare the sacrificertwaq?

Explaining the Senate's likelihood of proposing 2.5% cuts over the next two years to most health, education, and public safety services and organizations, Senator Leeper said that the Senate wanted to "share the sacrifice."

The Senate's budget proposal manages to worsen the outlook for many of the services that we all rely on. The House worked in about $371 million by closing some business tax loopholes, but the Senate's version doesn't even do that much because the business lobby groups balked.

We're betting that Kentucky families--who send their kids to public schools and see the same tired textbooks passed down from one sibling to another, while the class sizes swell; who try to patch together resources to help loved ones get treatment for mental illness, or access to Meals on Wheels; who drink the water and breathe the air--are sharing in the bulk of this sacrifice, and have been for most of the last decade.

You can read more about the proposal here, and more details are expected soon.
