First report from our Voting Rights Day
Today was a great day for our campaign to restore voting rights to former felons! This morning we sent out many lobby teams comprised of people from around the state to meet with legislators about House Bill 70. We had a lot of positive meetings, including one with Rep. Wuchner where our members convinced her change her previous NO vote on HB 70 to a YES.
Later in the day between 200 and 300 people came out to the capitol rotunda to rally in support of voting rights. We had many impassioned speakers and a crowd that was willing to fill the building with chants. Look for more updates from the day on our blog.
Here is video from our live stream of the rally. Sorry for the poor quality. We will try to get up some more video from the rally soon.
