Hearing on Restoration Tuesday - Call In!
On Tuesday, February 5th the House Elections and Constitutional Amendments Committee will hear testimony and vote on HB 70, the restoration of voting rights amendment. This is the first major step in the passage of the bill, and we need 6 yes votes for this bill to move out of committee, so it's critically important to let legislators know how you feel about this issue and to make sure they show up Tuesday morning.
Action #1: Leave a message for "all members of the House Elections and Constitutional Amendments committee" on the Legislative Message Line, 1-800-372-7181. The Message Line is open 7am - 11pm, Monday through Thursday, 7am - 6pm on Friday.
Message:
"Please vote yes on HB 70, the restoration of voting rights amendment, Tuesday morning in committee"
Action #2: You can also join us in Frankfort at the committee hearing itself - Tuesday, February 5th in Frankfort at 8 a.m. in Capitol Annex room 171 to visibly show support for the bill and our members who will be giving testimony.
