Restoration of Voting Rights on WMMT Mountain Radio

Hundreds of  Kentuckians, from Louisville to Whitesburg, turned out to the Capitol earlier this month in support of House Bill 70- our bill to restore voting rights to most former felons who have served their debt to society.   Members and staff from four east Kentucky KFTC chapters traveled to Frankfort for the event, including WMMT 88.7 programmer, Sylvia Ryerson of Whitesburg, who captured audio from the day's lobby meetings and afternoon rally featuring speakers from Lexington to Harlan County.

Sylvia cut her audio footage from the day into a beautiful news piece which made it into WMMT's most recent Mountain News and World Report.  This "bi-weekly public affairs program on life in Central Appalachia" can be heard on WMMT's website, here.  The voting rights piece begins about 10 minutes into the program posted on March 22.
