Scott County Lobby Training Report
Members of the Scott County KFTC Chapter gathered late last week for an ambitious lobby training, orienting many people to the idea of grassroots citizen lobbying and more directly to some of the issues we'll be working on in the General Assembly.
Members led discussions on such issues as Voting Rights, Immigration, the Streamsaver bill, Clean Energy legislation, and Tax Justice.
Another key piece of the evening was just telling stories about grassroots lobbying - what it's like and examples of big successes and little details.
Many of the neatly twenty people attending the training were new to KFTC, but most of them committed to coming out to at least one of our lobby days in Frankfort or at-home events like our letter-writing event this Thursday at 7pm on Georgetown College's campus at the Mulberry.
