The Special (Interest) Session is happening
It's now official. Governor Fletcher has called a special session at $60,000/day to push coal-to-liquid subsidies. Included with the CTL subsidies are 66 other items to be considered including a ban on domestic partner benefits at state universities. You can read more about the special session here or here.
KFTC plans on having a presence in Frankfort on Thursday and Friday. If you are interested in lobbying with us, please contact one of our organizers. Also, we still need people to call their state legislators and House and Senate leadership encouraging them to adjourn the session. Our message is: "Don't waste our tax dollars on a special interest session." The phone number for the Legislative Message Line is 1-800-372-7181.
More updates will be posted on the blog as they develop. So keep checking back.
