Voting Rights Call-in Week - Pick up the Phone
This week ( Sept 8th – 11th) is a statewide call-in week for our voting rights campaign.
Even though the General Assembly isn’t in session, you can call your Kentucky Senator and Representative to let them know you support restoration of voting rights for former felons who have served their time.
Call 1-800-372-7181 to leave a message for your legislators. The line is open 8am to 4:30pm Tuesday – Friday of this week. If you don’t know who your representative and senator are, just ask and the operator will tell you.
You can leave a message for many legislators all at the same time. Good names to include are Senators David Williams, Damon Thayer, Robert Stivers, Ed Worley, and Representative Greg Stumbo.
A simple message like "I support voting rights for former felons" works.
Also, you can write a letter or email to your senator and/or representative. Find their contact information online at www.lrc.ky.gov/Legislators.htm
Sitting down and hand-writing a letter to a legislator can make an especially big impact.
