Voting Rights Push! - Take 2 minutes to call today!
Our Voting Rights bill might be coming to a head in the next few days, so we're asking everyone to please take 2 minutes to call the Legislative Message Line one last time.
We've passed the House overwhelmingly and managed to steer the bill to a better Senate committee where we have the support of the chair, we've won the support of several new Senate Republicans, and brought 200-300 citizen lobbyists to Frankfort earlier this month to show broad support for the bill!
Now we just need to shore up support and convince a few more Senators to get on board. It's likely that the issue will come in front of the Senate Republican Caucus in the next few days and this Thursday might be the last chance to get the bill passed out of committee.
Can you take 2 minutes to pick up the phone and make a difference on this issue?
Call the Legislative Message Line (1-800-372-7181). The Message Line is open later than you'd think - 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday)
Leave a message for the "Senate Judiciary Committee," "Senate Leadership," plus your own Senator. (Click here if you're not sure who your senator is).
Message: "Please support House Bill 70."
If you have an extra two minutes, please also pass this action along to others by posting it to Facebook, emailing it to friends, or asking others to call-in in person.
