Voting Rights Rally and Lobby Day is next week! | Kentuckians For The Commonwealth

Voting Rights Rally and Lobby Day is next week!

Join us in Frankfort next Thursday, March 8, for our Voting Rights Rally and Lobby Day. Our Voting Rights amendment, which would restore the vote to the 186,000 former felons who have served their debt to society has unprecedented momentum this year. After passing out of the House by a vote of 78-18, it was assigned to a much friendlier Senate committee than in years past. It is crucial that we have a large presence at the capitol on Thursday to ensure that our bill gets heard and voted out of the Senate. Sign up to attend today!

Voting Rights Lobby Day and Rally
Thursday, March 8
9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Starting at 9 a.m. - Meet in Capitol Annex room 111 for rotating lobby trainings and to get assigned to a small lobby team. Teams will spend the morning having meetings with senators. No experience is necessary!

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Rally in the Capitol Rotunda with former felon speakers telling their stories, singing, and more. The echos of the rally will reach legislators as they are walking to their respective chambers.

Can't make it to Frankfort?

If you can’t make it out to Frankfort, you can still participate any time during the week by calling the Legislative Message Line, a quick and easy action. In just three minutes, you can leave a message for a dozen key legislators and really make an impact.

Call 1-800-372-7181, and ask to leave a message for "the Senate Judiciary committee" and your own Senator (if you don't know who that is, the operator can tell you).

The Message line is open 7am until 11pm Monday-Thursday and until 6pm on Friday.

Message: "Please vote yes on House Bill 70."

Thanks for taking action!
