Community Film Screening of Deep Down | Kentuckians For The Commonwealth

Community Film Screening of Deep Down

The Jefferson County Chapter of KFTC, GRASS - Group Recycling and Sustainable Solutions, and University of Louisville Sustainability Council present a community screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary film Deep Down. The film follows an eastern Kentucky community's contentious battle over a proposed mountaintop removal coal mine. More information about the film can be found at http://deepdownfilm.org/

Following the hour-long film, KFTC member Mary Love will answer audience questions and share information about the organization's Appalachian Transition work and continued efforts to end mountaintop removal coal mining.

The film screening is part of the Jefferson County Chapter of KFTC's Louisville Loves Mountains Week. Audience members will also be invited to participate in KFTC's 10th Annual I Love Mountains Day rally at the State Capitol on Thursday, February 12, 2015.
