Election Day Report from Letcher/Pike/Knott Counties

We had a big Letcher County phone bank on Saturday evening, and an even bigger three-county (Pike/Letcher/Knott) phone bank from Hindman Settlement School yesterday in which we had lots of great conversations and connected a lot of people with rides.


Today, members are focusing on just physically getting people to the polls.

Long voting lines reported in Lexington

Reports that we're getting from Lexington KFTC members indicate various polls have lines between 30 minutes and 2.5 hours long!


In one voting location, there's a placeholder system so that voters can leave the line and wait in a local church and boyscouts are roving up and down the line selling popcorn.

Well the polls are now closed across the continental US and all we have left to do is watch the results come in... or call friends if you have any in Alaska and Hawaii and remind them to vote.

Voter Probelms at Western Kentucky University

The Bowling Green voting location that serves Western Kentucky University has had problems today, turning away many students, telling them that they can't vote because they're registered in a different county.
