Today's Scott County Field Work

Despite some rainy, dreary weather today, Scott County KFTC members came out to the Georgetown Kite Fest today to register voters and talk about recycling.

We registered a handful of voters and passed out a lot of information about our recycling campaign and left the event with several pages of signed petition for  curbside recycling in Georgetown.

Voter registration deadline in 1 week

All voter registrations for the May Primary Election must be received at the County Clerk's office or postmarked by Monday, April 23rd, one week from today.

KFTC Candidate Surveys due in in 1 week

With the Primary Election coming up soon on May 22nd, the citizens of Kentucky have a lot of work to do to learn about candidates and decide who to vote for in a host of races from the Presidential primary, to local legislative office, and even city offices.  It's a lot to sort through and candidates don't generally do a good job of volunteering their stances on many issues either.

KFTC's Voter Empowerment program in a given year focuses on voter Registration, Education and Mobilization efforts to make our Democracy more sound so that we can tend to come to better decisions as a Commonwealth.  We believe that large percentages of our state tend to get left our of our Democracy, so we focus our efforts on youth communities, people of color communities and low income commun
