Kentucky Council of Churches Prayer in Action Day: Environment/Energy

KCC is hosting Prayer in Action days at the State Capitol each Tuesday during the 2017 General Assembly to pray for government officials and act on behalf of Kentucky’s most vulnerable citizens. Each week will focus on a particular justice issue.

Mapping environmental (in)justice in Kentucky

As KFTC members work to design a new, clean energy system for our state, we want principles of environmental justice and health equity to be at the front and center of our process and plan. Developing an Environmental Justice analysis is one important step we are taking to better understand which communities in our state are most affected by pollution, poor health, economic inequality and racial injustice.

This is the draft Environmental Assessment by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Kinder Morgan's application to re-purpose the Tennessee Gas Pipeline that runs through Kentucky from natural gas service to hazardous natural gas liquids.
